A Message from the Principal

Reconciliation Week at NPS

I wanted to thank Relationships Australia for partnering with us on Friday. Through this partnership our students had an opportunity to learn about history and culture from local indigenous people. Our school is pleased to have made some new friends. Pictured Billy is conducting a smoking ceremony and Kai and David are sharing artefacts, language and history with our students.

Earlier in the week our wonderful pre-schoolers made the More than Words piece to commence Reconciliation Week.

At Ngunnawal Primary School we have been taking action by recognising that our history tells the story of all of us. If you want to know how you can take action the link below contains 20 actions for reconciliation, selecting just 1 action to begin with will help make a difference.

COVID-19 Reminder

A reminder that the COVID-19 pandemic is still with us and while many restrictions have been eased since last year, some restrictions are still in place in our school.

It is important that students stay home and get tested if they are unwell.

Visitors to our school, including parents and carers, should sign in using established processes, meet density requirements of one person per two square metres, and maintain physical distancing of 1.5m from other adults. Students and visitors also need to practice good hand and respiratory hygiene. You can find more information on COVID-19 and ACT public schools on the Education Directorate website.
