A Message from the Principal
What a great picture of our 2021 school captains. Our students featured in the latest version of Our canberra https://www.act.gov.au/our-canberra/latest-news/2021/january/canberra-kids-head-back-to-school
We are off to a great start to 2021. We were very pleased with our first day procedure and hope that families found the staggered start to kindergarten made leaving your little person for the first time an easier experience.

New Staff
This year we welcome:
Year 5/6 - Dan Tuddenham
Year 4 - Nick O'Brien
Year 3 - Morven Downie
Year 1 - Carly Murphy
Art Specialist - Gene Nichols
Learning Support Assistant - Maria Goleby
Learning Support Assistant - Aimee Wright
Below are our leadership and administration teams and their responsibilities.
COVID-19 requirements when coming into school
We welcome parents and carers onto our school grounds and ask that you abide by social distancing protocols. It is expected that parents and careers are on school grounds for no longer than 15 minutes when dropping off or picking up children. For anyone staying over 15 minutes, you will be required to officially sign in as a visitor to our school.
We will be able to welcome families back to assemblies. Sign in will be required and we will need to maintian social distancing so there will be a limit on the number of people we can accomodate.
Parent Open Morning Cancelled
Unfortunately, our open morning planned for this Friday has had to be cancelled. This is due to COVID restrictions and limits on the number of visitors in classrooms at any one time. We look forward to Getting to Know You Chats in week 4. Please connect with your child's teacher sooner if required. We aim to have Seesaw up and running in week 3.
Get to Know You Chats
We welcome families to meet with teachers in the week beginning 22 February. The link for making bookings will be shared on 11 February and closes Friday 19 February.
If you are unable to make it to the school we welcome the opportunity to speak over the phone or via a video chat. Please contact your child's teacher if you would like to organise this.
The prupose of these chats are:
- Get to know your child's teacher
- See your child's classroom
- Talk to the teacher about your child's strengths, needs, useful information
- Find out how their child has settled
- Do you have skills to share? Let the teacher know!
P & C News
Our first P and C meeting for the year is Monday, 22 February, at 6pm in the school admin building. Please come along as we welcome new parents to join our P and C. Our P and C run our school canteen. Orders can be made through the flexischools app.
Swimming Carnival
Our carnival this year will be for competitive swimmers only. Further representation at district level has also been limited to 10-13 year olds. As always, we welcome parent helpers at our carnivals so if you would like to assist please let Trent Gacvenlock know via the permission slip.
