Final Day Thursday 19 December
Please remember the last day of term is Thursday of this week.
Ngunnawal Primary School wishes everyone a safe and restful break.
Congratulations to Noah who was the runner up in the NPS Chess Competition this year and a big well done to Oscar who has persevered for the last few years and made it to the top! We love your determination!
Our school has been successful in securing a grant for $6200 to improve our outdoor areas. The school is combining these funds with a wonderful donation of $2500 from the P and C to landscape the dirt area near the play equipment. We look forward to seeing this project completed during the holidays.
We look forward to seeing the results of some other improvement works taking place over the holiday period:
- Courtyard resurfacing with movement break tracks
- Painting of yellow poles
- Landscaping dirt play area near play equipment
- Delivery of Year 1 furniture to 2 classes in Namadji
- Year 6 Gift - outdoor satellite picnic tables

A small group of students from Year 1 and 2 were lucky enough to have the opportunity to participate in a dance video that Mix 106.3 are putting together for the charity, Kids in Care. Kids in Care is run by ACT Policing and aims to aid children in crisis or emergency care within the ACT by giving them a gift over the Christmas period. Our students learnt the dance quickly over the past four days and were ready to shoot. The final video will feature singing, schools dancing and a whole lot of fun. Mix 106.3 will then circulate it on their social media channels with donations matching the views. We look forward to seeing it!
A huge thank you to Danielle for coordinating this opportunity and Rochelle, one of our dedicated teachers who was willing to give up her breaks to practise with our students.
Positions open for the P&C committee 2020!
Ever wanted a prestigious title?
Are you a note-taking whizz?
Want to get the inside information first?
The P&C are looking for a new President, Vice President, and Secretary for next year.
There's more to the P&C than just having to organise fundraisers. In fact, the primary purpose is to ensure the longevity and success of the school canteen - we are very proud of the fact that our canteen continues to operate 5 days per week, offering healthy food, and hasn't been outsourced. A rare achievement for schools these days!
If you are interested, please ask for more information - we'd be more than happy to have a chat! Drop us a message via Facebook and we'll be in touch.

It is an opportunity for the children to introduce you to their new space, say hello to the teachers and begin our home and school partnerships to ensure every student experiences success. Our Preschool classrooms are open each day while our families settle their children into school routines.
