P and C News

Welcome to your P&C update. To get in touch with us on any of the announcements below, please send us a message on Facebook or email us at ngunnawalpandc@gmail.com

School Disco

We will be hosting a school disco on Friday 28 June

Separate discos will be held for junior (preschool to year 2) followed senior (year 3 to year 6). This event is in its planning phase, and more details (start/finish times etc) will be available shortly. Tickets are available for purchase via Flexi-Schools- we will be having a bbq, so sausage sanga’s will be available!

Permission slips will be sent home shortly.

In order to make this event a success, we need volunteers! Many of our wonderful parents have put their hands up to help, but we can always use more!

If you would like to volunteer to assist at one or both disco’s please reach out and let us know.

Book Club Orders

We would like to remind everyone that our preferred ordering method for Book Club orders is online.  Orders can be made online at http://www.scholastic.com.au/LOOP or via the LOOP app - you will be prompted to select your child's school and class during the ordering process.

All book club orders are processed on the due date, delivered to the school, sorted by P&C volunteers, and then delivered to your child's classroom teacher.  Online ordering makes this process faster and easier for our volunteers.

If you do need to order with cash, we remind you that orders must be delivered to the canteen before the due date.  Orders should be enclosed in a sealed zip-lock bag with exact money provided, along with the order form completed correctly with your child's name, class, and contact information.  To avoid any mistakes, please use online ordering wherever possible.

Issue 4 catalogues have been sent home, with orders for that issue being due by 19 June.  You can also view the current issue catalogue online, and submit your order at http://www.scholastic.com.au/LOOP

Year 6 Market Day

The Year 6 Market Day will be on Thursday 20 June. Our awesome year 6 students have created over 20 stalls, but unfortunately due to timetabling not all of our wonderful teachers will be able to support our students for the time needed- so we NEED parent volunteers to help from 11am-1pm- any time you can provide would be invaluable so we can ensure our grade 6 students have the success that they deserve! Please reach out and let us know if you can help.

School Lunch Clubs

Did you know that our school student leaders run a number of clubs throughout the week during lunchtime?!

If you, or somebody that you know would be interested in lending a hand with any of the clubs (particularly any keen gardeners, artists, writers, coders or legoists) please reach out. Also we would welcome any equipment that can be donated to the clubs.

Cookie Dough Fundraiser

What a huge success the cookie dough fundraiser was!! We sold 481 tubs of dough which means we raised $1924 for the P&C which is awesome!

Delivery of dough to the school is scheduled for Wednesday 19 June- so we’ll reach out to the parents to arrange collection or delivery once the dough is received and sorted.

Congratulations to our highest individual seller Savannah Souter (with 40 tubs) and our highest class seller 2CP (with 53 tubs).

Secondhand School Uniform Shop

The Secondhand Uniform shop is open every Wednesday from 9am - 10am. Pop by the canteen and ask for Kat or Jason. Items are $1 - $5 and card or cash payments are accepted. Follow us on Facebook for regular updates.

We happily accept donations of secondhand uniforms in good condition. We cannot accept clothing that is marked, discoloured, broken buttons/zips, or items that are not Ngunnawal colours.

Please contact Kat directly if you have any questions - 0417 393 887

We recently held 2 pop-up stalls on 29 May (morning from 9-11 and afternoon 2.30-4p) with non-logo items available for just $1 which raised a total of $277 for the P&C. This is something that we will look to do more regularly. We are also aware that not all of our parents are available during these hours, so we are more than happy to have a pop up stall for parents with kids in after school care- if this is something that you’d be interested in please let us know.

Lost Property

Has your child lost a uniform item or personal property at school? Please check the lost property to see if it is there. There are 2 lost property tubs located outside the library (these tubs are emptied and the property sorted every Wednesday). Sorted lost property is located on a rack just inside the entrance to the school gym.

It is a timely reminder for parents to label/name your child’s jumpers, jackets, hats, water bottles etc to ensure that it can be returned to your child when the lost property is sorted.

School Canteen

Use the  Flexi_schools.png  app to check the menu and order your lunch orders.

Remember: Canteen orders need to be in by 9:30am each day.

Get involved

Our next P&C meeting will be held at the school staff room from 6pm on Tuesday 11 June. All are welcome to attend. P&C meetings are held on the Tuesday of weeks 2 and 7 every term.

We are always looking for willing volunteers to assist us with our activities throughout the year. If you’d like to express your interest in being involved please reach out and let us know!
