A Message from the Principal
2024 School Captains
Congratulations to our year 6, 2024 student leaders:
External Learning Environment Grant
Our school has received an external learning environment grant, which will see our outdoor space adjacent to Wiradjuri and our Yarning Cirlce be upgraded. A temporary fence will be erected tomorrow morning and will close off pedestrian access to our school from Kanbi Place. All other pedestrian gates will remain open.
World Teachers Day
Thanks to the P&C for a delicious morning tea which was provided to our staff for World Teacher's Day on Friday 27th October. Our staff greatly appreciated the sweet treat and to our amazing staff, thank you for your continued dedication to our school community.
Gala Days
Our school has recently been involved in soccer and league tag gala days. Students represented our school with passion and sportsmanship. They should be proud of the way they conducted themselves and for their outstanding results.
Nominations
ACT Public Education Awards recently took place. We would like to congratulate members of our staff who were nominated:
Catherine Beckett
Billy Duncan
Lisa Peacock
Last week the University of Canberra Faculty of Education recognised the commitment and partnership of ACT schools involved in facilitating placements for pre-service teachers. Ngunnawal Primary School was recognised for our long-time commitment in fostering the development of pre-service teachers and one of our amazing teachers Dan was nominated for a Mentor Teacher Award, by his pre-service teacher Harry Bannister.
Staffing
I am pleased to announce that I will be continuing in the principal position while Bec Turner is acting executive principal at Amaroo School.
