Spotlight on Learning Preschool
What a lovely morning we had for Reconciliation Week! We started off with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony by Ngunnawal man and Koori Pre Dad, Richard Allan. Next, we had Rebekah Lane talk through the Preschool Mural and the different aspects within it.

We started our special activities which were run by Gugan Gulwan, Dhunlung Yarra, Libraries ACT and Gungahlin Child and Family Centre and each class rotated through the different activities. We had the story ‘Kootear the Echidna’ read to us before completing an animal scratch art experience. In the next room we completed a handprint canvas which once they are dry, we will be able to take it home. In the last classroom, we decorated a wooden animal using paint pens. Some of the Koori Pre students were even able to find our totem to decorate! Once all our activities were finished, we had a shared morning tea with all the beginning of the week preschool classes.

Thank you to those families who were able to join us for the ceremony on the morning. It was such a great turn out and we were so pleased to see everyone coming together to join us. A big thank you to Nat Munoz and the Gungahlin Child and Family Centre for all the organisation and preparations that went on behind the scenes.
Classroom Learning
Throughout each of the classrooms, the children have been learning about Reconciliation Week, what it means and how we can all work together to ‘Be a Voice for Generations’.
