A Message from the Principal
NAPLAN
Thank you to our Year 3 and 5 students who participated in NAPLAN over the past two weeks and to all the staff involved in ensuring a smooth and relaxed experience for the students. All students who participated in NAPLAN will receive an individual report of their results later in the year. These results provide a snapshot of your child’s achievement in Literacy and Numeracy and also provides information to the school on areas where we are doing well and where we may need to focus more.
Active Streets
Our school is participating in the Active Streets for Schools program.
Active Streets delivers infrastructure improvements around schools to make it safer and easier to ride, walk, scooter or skate to and from school.
Parents are encouraged to talk to their children about how they can support walking or riding to school. Starting small is often a good approach, so try using part way points a short distance from the school and accompany students to teach them safe habits.
Wayfinding pavement signage is installed through the Active Streets program to
promote part way points and some of the routes highlighted on the school’s map. The stencils can be used in conjunction with the school’s map to educate children about safe routes to school.
The Active Streets program helps children to develop independence, while providing health and safety benefits for the school community, with increased physical activity and fewer cars on the road.
