A Message from the Principal
Satisfaction Surveys
Last week we received our School Climate and Satisfaction Survey data back. The data from our three stakeholders, students, staff and parents was overwhelmingly positive. We look forward to increasing parent involvement in our school community. If you have new and exciting ideas about how you would like this to happen you are welcome to feed this back through our P and C or contact the school directly.
The below table shows our parent and carer responses for our school in colour, compared to other schools similar to us in grey.
Koori Pre Curriculum Launch
Last week I attended the launch of the Koori Pre Curriculum. Many of our families, students and staff have contributed to the Koori Preschool co-design process to produce a cultural safety framework and curriculum plan. Thank you to everyone involved and we look forward to sharing the final products with you in the near future.
A cultural safety framework informs and enhances all aspects of our work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and community members by ensuring that our support to, our engagement with and our inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities is culturally respectful and culturally-informed.
The Koori Pre Curriculum is intended as a guiding document to achieve the vision of Koori Pre Co-design by ensuring that pedagogy and practice is anchored in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and honours ‘what matters to Mob’.
Both documents are underpinned by the following cultural safety commitments:
Rainbow Morning Tea
I had the pleasure of hosting a rainbow morning tea with our outstanding students who achieved our highest PBL reward level. Congratulations to all students whose exceptional positive behaviours have contributed to making our great school even greater. I look forward to celebrating with more students before the end of year.
Parent Teacher Interviews
All parents and carers are welcome to request an interview with your child's teacher to discuss growth and achievement for 2022 and goals for 2023. Reports will be emailed to parents and carers on Friday 25 November. Please email your child's teacher if you would like to request a meeting.
