Gross motor program in preschool
The children have been participating in gross motor play to improve their motor skills in a fun and interactive way through games and using equipment.
There are many skills we develop in the program such as eye-hand coordination, balance, travelling skills, spatial awareness, core strength, postural control and large muscle coordination and strength.

Bush Preschool

The preschool groups have started exploring their community bushland where they are free to play in the natural environment. Before we ventured off, we had weeks of preparing for our excursions where we learnt how to be safe in the bush.

After walking together to our bush preschool site, we all acknowledge our country we were learning and playing on. We walk the boundary to know where we can play and then we can go and explore, pretend, imagine, and play in our outdoor classroom. When at bush preschool we unexpectedly learn literacy, math, and science concepts through play. We improve our gross motor and problem-solving skills when we work out how to manoeuvre our bodies to climb trees and large rocks and how to balance rocks to make a tower without it falling over. We measure sticks and use sticks to write with. We use our senses to explore our playground and improve our social skills as we take turns, communicate, share and help each other succeed. Bush preschool challenges, excites and allows the children to become learners, explorers, and environmentalists in an outdoor classroom.
