A Message from the Principal

Student Leadership Teams

This year we have redesigned our SRC program which is now known as Student Leadership. Our student leaders have come up with their priority areas and projects they wish to lead to make our great school even greater.  This week our leadership teams received their badges. The badges were designed by the students and reflect their initiatives . We look forward to the students contributing to school improvement throughout the year.

Athletics Carnival

Well done to all students who participated in the Athletics Carnival. We were lucky to have a warm day with just a hint of rain in the afternoon. Thank you to our parent volunteers who assisted in running events. We look forward to hearing how our students go at the north Gungahlin carnival later in the year.

Mother's Day Morning Tea

Our Mother's Day Morning Tea with Preschool to Year One was a great success. The courtyard was full to the brim and it was lovely to see our families back in the school. The P and C did a wonderful job collating gift packs for the Mother's Day raffle and your support of this means they had a successful fundraiser to make a contribution back to the school later in the year. We look forward to celebrating with our dads later in the year.

Assemblies

We are able to welcome families back to watch students presenting our junior and senior assemblies. Checking in on the Check In Canberra app will be required and family groups must continue to sit 1.5 metres apart. Our whole school assemblies will be ticketed events as we have far less room for parent seating.

Community Connections

We are continuing to build our partnerships with local community members to benefit both our volunteers and our school. Our latest collaboration between the Sustainability Club and The Grove residents has resulted in the installation of some bird feeders around our school. Thank you to Gordon for creating these for us, they are amazing!

100 Nights of Reading

In Kindergarten to Year 3 our students are provided with a reading log to encourage regular reading habits. We are nearing the 100 nights of reading mark so I have replenished my book collection and will be giving out books to students who reach this milestone. I can't wait to see some reading logs soon!
