A Message from the Principal
Friends of Ngunnawal
We have had some more special visitors to our school in the last week. Member for Fenner Dr Andrew Leigh came for a tour. Once again our School Captains capably represented our school. Dr Leigh was most interested in the nature play area we completed as a combined community project using funds from a local government grant.

Leadership Changes
Commencing this week Mr William Powell with be tranferring to Margaret Hendry School for the remainder of the year. We know Will has wonderful expertise to share and will be a great addition to the team. Mrs Kristina Vizadis will be replacing Will at Ngunnawal Primary School as the Executive Teacher for Years 4, 5 and 6. Kristina is a highly capable leader who will be a great addition to the team.
Reading Improvement Journey
We have reviewed our reading growth data for the whole school and planned for next steps. We are incredibly pleased to say all cohorts have increased the number of students achieving expected mid year levels. During this process we identified target groups of students to receive additional instruction (RTN) for the next 6 weeks. Families will receive a note if your child is involved. The aim of this additional reading instruction on top of class learning is to give students the boost they need to continue to improve.
100 Days of Kindergarten
Our Kindergarten students had a wonderful time celebrating 100 days of Kindergarten last Tuesday. We are super proud of the learners they have become and all that they have achieved in 2020.
Cancelled Event Refunds
We have reached the point with all the uncertainty that we have had to decide to cancel the Year 5/6 camp for 2020. We are looking forward to the Year 5/6 camp scheduled for Term 1 2021 for current year 4 and 5 students. Our year 5 families can choose to keep their current deposit for the camp next year or request a refund. Year 6 families are welcome to submit a request for refund and all money will be returned to you.
A reminder AquaSafe will also not progress in 2020. Those families who have not requested a refund are still able to do this.
| Event | Refund Available |
| Year 5/6 Camp | Yes |
| Year 2 AquaSafe | Yes |

Our K-6 students have their photos being taken on Friday of this week. There will be catch up opportunities for anyone who will be absent on the Preschool photo days. Familiy photos will also be taken on the preschool days. Orders will be accepted up to 17 September.
