Students are developing their competence in body, control and accuracy when exploring various moves. This is demonstrated through Ultimate Frisbee, Kick Ball and collaborative games.

Reader’s Workshop

This term in Readers Workshop, years 5/6 have been revisiting a range of reading strategies to further develop their understanding of what they are reading. One strategy in particular we have looked at is inferring. Students were taught to find clues within a text or image and record various inferences.

Design Make and Appraise (DMA)

The students were required to build a boat that could float and support as many paper explorers. They designed and created a boat using straws, foil, paddle pop sticks and tape all of which they had to purchase in their $1000 budget. The students reflected on what they could have done better.

Inquiry

In history, the students have embarked on an inquiry unit focused on “Truth Telling” from an Indigenous perspective. The students have been learning about timelines and how Indigenous people recorded history through oral language. We were lucky to have Christopher Simpson, a Wakka Wakka man, guide us through this journey, using his own life experiences to teach us about the truth about the skin system.
