Positive Behaviours for Learning
Fortnightly Focus
Our fortnightly focus for weeks 7 and 8 is all about using hands and feet safely. Teachers will be reminding students of the bank of strategies they have to use on the playground when they face a challenge with a peer. This includes putting a hand out in front, palm out, and saying, ‘Stop it, I don’t like it.’ If this is not effective, they can walk away and seek additional support from a teacher. Parents can get involved by having a conversation with their child about using STOP, WALK and TALK to defuse a disagreement or misunderstanding on the playground.
Welcome to Woggabaliri
This week we were joined by Richie Allen, a Ngunnawal Elder and preschool grandparent, to officially open and Welcome us to our new play space named Woggabaliri.
Woggabaliri means 'play' in Ngunnawal language and was nominated by our students as the most fitting name for the outdoor learning place, formally known as West Park.
During Richie’s Welcome, we were treated to the students from the Dyindan Koori Pre class, singing and playing their tapping sticks and teaching us some of the Ngunnawal words for parts of the body.
Do you know these words?

Richie ended our celebration by playing the didgeridoo and testing our skills in identifying various native animal sounds made on the instrument.
We would like to thank Richie for taking the time to offer this Welcome. We acknowledge the Ngunnawal people past present and emerging and will ensure we are respectful of this land that we learn, play and grow on.

PBL Reward – How High Can We Go?
With a current whole school yunggi bengal total of 124 799, we have earned a third break time for our final PBL celebration for the year. Can we trade this for a crazy hair day?
