Positive Behaviours for Learning
Fortnightly Focus
In weeks 5 and 6 teachers are looking to reward students who listen and follow instructions with Responsible Learner yunggi bengals. This includes showing whole body listening when the teacher is giving instructions, followed by doing as asked straight away, without distraction.
Whole School Reward
We edge closer to our whole school reward of YES Afternoon with a running total of 74,083 yunggi bengals. This remarkable total shows just how many students are demonstrating PBL values in the classroom and on the playground.
YES afternoon involves students participating in an activity of choice. The activity is teacher approved - it meets PBL expectations and resourcing demands. It might be indoors or outdoors. It might be an activity that is done alone or with a friend. It is all about having FUN!
Student Voice – Toilets
We asked the students to voice what they think PBL values look like in different settings in the school. This week, we talked about the toilets. Our observation data tells us that the school community needs to be reminded to use toilets for their intended purpose.
PBL in the toilets is...
“Turn the taps off after use.” - Aiden
“Only use the amount of soap that you need.” - Grace
“Use the toilet for its intended purpose.” - Kyyros
“Use the blow dryers responsibly.” - Elando
“Use the soap on hands only.” - Yuika
“Open and close the doors gently.” - Yuika
“Keep your feet on the ground.” - Ava
"Use toilet paper for its intended purpose.” - Indi
"Flush the toilet after use.” - Mia
